Long time No Blog

Long time No Blog….

It’s been way to long since my last post.  I have not been a very good blogger at all!  (

Let’s see… I am now officially 31 as of last Friday.  Hard to believe that I am now in my thirties.  I am a wife, teacher, friend, and aunt… but still not a mother.  Each passing birthday makes that harder and harder to bear.  It is as if part of my life is missing.  I think the fact that we are not even in active treatment right now makes things even more difficult.  We are not doing anything to pursue our dreams of being parents.  We are just in limbo right now.  We haven’t even talked about our options in months.  It is as if none of this ever happened.  The scars from my surgery are just about healed, and I finally have a normal belly button.  Another failed treatment option.  Now I have the physical scars to display for all to see.

I am very excited to be heading out to CKU next week.  I am taking the Junkitz track with the amazing Stacey, Janna, and Teresa.  I have seen a few sneak peaks of the album and just can’t wait.  I still have lots of homework to work on and get done before I am officially ready.  I have been to three stores trying to find a few colors of ink for one of my other classes.  I haven’t scrapped in weeks, so I really need to get back into my MOJO and get some creating done.

Chris and I are heading to Minneapolis this weekend.  My sister and Louis are both going out of town too.  That means our two trusty Romeo watchers are out of commission.  We did find one of Chris’ swimmers to care for him this weekend.  We’ll see how he does.  I have a feeling only one of them will be standing at the end of it all… I swear Romeo can read my mind and knows exactly what the worst thing is that he can destroy.  Today I came home to see Chris’ contacts strewn on the living room floor!  As I was leaving this morning, I thought to myself that I really should move them.  He is just too smart for his own good, I swear!

I am reading the book, Marley and Me and I swear I could have written many of the anecdotes.  It seems that Romeo is somehow related to Marley… He just has to be! LOL.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who has had a spunky dog in their life.

For the first time in four years, Chris will be heading to Florida without me.  I am sad… but know that it is for the best.  I really can’t afford to take the time off from work and we really can’t afford my plane ticket.  I would really like to spend the money on a nice vacation for our anniversary that doesn’t revolve around a swim meet.  I am just sad that I will be alone and that we won’t be together in that amazing Florida Sun!  To make matters worse, I leave for CKU on Wednesday and don’t get home until Sunday afternoon.  He flies out Sunday morning and gets home the following Saturday.  That means that I won’t see him for 10 days.  I think that is the longest we have EVER been apart in all 10 years of our marriage.  At least I have Romeo the crazy dog to protect me and Patches to keep me warm at night.  (

Off to finish dinner…

Why do I have a big dog? Remind me please...

I am seriously wondering why in the world I wanted this big dog. Let me rephrase that... DH wanted the big MALE dog, while I wanted another female.

Our yard is a MESS- mud everywhere. There is NO PLACE for the dogs to go that does not involve mud. The puppy (all 80 lbs of him) just took off in the yard and managed to hit EVERY mud puddle he could.

So I drag his butt back in the house and right into my bathtub. DH is of course NOT home today. (He is at a swim meet.) This dog LOVES water. However, the minute I turn on the shower, he freaks and tears out of the tub. Now I am soaking wet and so is my entire bathroom. Off come all of my wet clothes... back into the shower with the darn dog. I finally get him clean after wrestling him for 10 minutes in the shower. Of course I wasn't prepared and didn't have a towel to dry him off. So he takes off out of the bathroom.

My bathroom is now soaking wet from top to bottom... I have a full load of laundry to do thanks to his little escapade. Why did we name him Romeo? Not feeling the love right now... LOL.
Ok... feel better now that I got that out!

New Paper Company- CRATE PAPER

One of the amazing perks from being on the Design team at Croppin Paradise was being able to preview this BRAND NEW paper from a BRAND NEW company called Crate Paper. They are debuting this week at CHA and let me tell you... this paper is AMAZING!!!! The texture and quality of the paper is incredible. Here is a Layout I did using the Taylor Collection:

Design Team Dreams... :)

I am so speechless right now... (hard to believe!) I have been applying for DT for almost a year now. I haven't been fortunate to be selected. Now, in the matter of two days, I have been chosen for two teams. I couldn't be more thrilled! The two sites are very different, and I am so excited to be part of BOTH teams. Looks like I am done applying for DTs! :)

I was feeling pretty crummy lately, and threw myself into my scrapbooking goals. I am feeling so fortunate to have these two opportunities. Now I need to get back in my scraproom and get to creating!!!! :)

DESIGN TEAM DREAM!!!

As some of you know, one of my goals for 2006 was to on a Design Team. This is something that I have wanted to do for sometime. I have applied here and there... but not consistently. Over break, I decided I was going to start submitting more. Looks like it paid off...

I am so excited to be part of the team! There were many talented ladies who applied. I don't know all of the details just yet... but I am hoping to have a great experience! I can't wait to get started!
